Replacing the ignition coil on the Niva

One of the reasons for the loss of a spark or interruptions in the operation of the engine is the failure of the ignition coil. On Niva, it is installed the same as on most “classic” models, so there will be no difference when buying. The replacement procedure itself is very simple and with several keys at hand, you can do it yourself in five minutes. So, you will need for this repair:

  • Socket head for 8 and 10
  • Extension
  • Ratchet handle or small crank

Before proceeding with the removal, it is necessary to disconnect the “minus” terminal from the Niva battery. After that, we unscrew the nuts on top that secure the power wires, as is clearly shown in the photo below:

After that, the head is 10 to unscrew the fastenings of the coil clamp to the body:

As a result, when the coil is dismantled, we buy a new one at a price of about 450 rubles, and then we replace it. Installation is carried out in the reverse order, and be sure to follow the order of connecting the power wires. It is better to mark them in some way before removing them, so that later there will be no problems.
