Dismantling and replacing the low beam with your own hands

As mentioned above, low beam bulbs often need to be replaced. The reason is that drivers use them as DRLs, which means these headlights are constantly talking. And it doesn’t matter if it contains xenon or halogen, the part can quickly become unusable. Replacement can be done manually.

Follow the steps below to replace the lamps.

1. Raise the hood and lock it in this position, leaning on the latch.
2. Now you need to disconnect the wires from the lamp. To do this, you need to take a block and break it into pieces.
3. Then pry off the lamp cover (you can use a flathead screwdriver).
4. Now step aside and lower the metal latch until it stops.
5. Unscrew the old light bulb. Be careful not to break the glass. Sometimes an old part is firmly in place due to corrosion and other phenomena, so a little more effort is required.
6. Install a new lamp and press down with a clamp.
7. Perform all subsequent steps in reverse order. Don't forget to adjust your headlights.

Headlight correctors

Be aware that light bulbs can be quite hot, especially if they have just been turned on. Take them off with gloves. Also, do not leave fingerprints or dirt on new parts. This will degrade lighting in the future. In this case, use a clean cloth and alcohol to clean. While pressing the lamp, turn it counterclockwise until it stops.

Low and high beam lamps

Operations for replacing the dipped and main beam are considered using the Volkswagen Polo headlight as an example (on the right.

1. First, a block with several wires is disconnected from the lighting fixture.
2. Pull out the end of the rubber boot and remove it.
3. Pressing on the spring-loaded latch tab should carefully release its edges from the mounting hooks on the box.
4. At the last stage, the damaged illuminator is easily removed from the headlight housing.
5. To do this, simply pull it towards you.

Use a clean cloth dampened with alcohol to remove dirt from the mount.

In its place, a new control lamp H4 is installed in the reverse order described above.

When removing the lamps, it is allowed to hold them only by the socket. This is explained by the fact that the updated products are halogen-type illuminators, the bulb of which is forbidden to be touched by hands. Otherwise, when heated, some areas of the surface may darken.

Turning bulbs (included in the headlight)

To remove the corner headlights that are part of the block already removed from the car, you will need:

1. First take the base with your hand and press it.
2. Rotate clockwise.
3. At the next stage, the lamp is removed from the frame support with a force directed towards itself.

At the final stage of the procedure for removing the turn signals, a new PY21W illuminator is taken and installed in the reverse order.

Replacing low beam bulbs dorestyle

Disconnect the H4 block from the lamp, then remove the rubber protection from the lamp

To remove the flashlight, you need to gently press on it, remove the spring clip, remove it from the “ear” and lower it.

We take out the old lamp, carefully take a new one, without touching the bulb and install it. Then mount in reverse order.

To replace the w5w headlight, turn the socket counterclockwise and remove the sockets. Then we pull the lamp towards ourselves, install a new one.

The fog lamp is removed when replacing the headlight housing or when replacing the front bumper. This is done using a special hook from the car kit. Replacement process:

1. Press the latches of the pads, disconnect the power from the lamp connector on the back of the headlight;
2. We remove the headlight so as not to damage the wiring;
3. We unscrew the screws that hold the fog lights with a Torx T-25 key;
4. Replace the light bulb with a new one, assemble.
5. Insert the wire stripping tool into the headlight adjustment hole, gently pull the trim, remove it, overcoming the resistance of the clamps;
6. Turn the light bulb counterclockwise, remove it from the housing along with the cartridge;

Side turn signal

1. We take out the cartridge, take it out of the sleeve;
2. We take out the pointer from the hole;
3. Move the side turn signal to the front of the car;
4. We replace the old light bulb with a new one and put everything in its place.

Dimensions

It is done symmetrically for the left and right flags:

1. We take out the cartridge, change the light bulb without the base.
2. Slide the lamp holder counterclockwise;

The light source for the rear lights is changed as follows:

1. Remove the lamp from the body so as not to damage the car paint;
2. Unscrew the fixing nut;
3. Use a flat screwdriver to lift the latch of the red connector, press the latch, disconnect the wires;
4. Assemble the lantern in reverse order.
5. Remove the negative battery terminal;

7. Hook the cartridge between the clamps;
8. Press the latches on the lamp holder, remove the lamp platform;
9. Unlock the cartridge and replace the light bulb;
10. Open trunk;
