Replacing the low beam lamp on the Priore
There is one rather strange pattern, and it applies not only to the Priora car, but also to other cars, that it is the dipped beam lamps that most often have to be changed. But if you think about why such a situation arises, everything becomes clear. The high beam is used on cars not as often as the low beam. Agree, the travel time spent at night is negligible compared to daytime operation, and during the day, as you know, it is necessary to drive with the dipped beam on.
The procedure for replacing the low beam lamp on the Priore is almost the same as with other front-wheel drive VAZ cars, such as Kalina and Granta. And this procedure is performed quite simply, the main thing is to remain calm during this work, since you will definitely need it!
Is there any lamp replacement tool needed?
As for the tool and other devices, nothing like this is needed here. Everything is done in the truest sense of the word - with your own hands. The only fixture of the lamp is a metal latch, which is also released with a slight movement of the hand.
So, the first step is to open the hood of the car and remove the rubber plug from the inside, under which there is a dipped beam bulb, well, or a high beam one, depending on what exactly needs to be replaced. This gum looks like this:
Then we get full access to the light bulb. But first you need to disconnect the power wires for the low beam:
Next, you need to move the edges of the metal retainer to the sides and lift it up, thereby freeing the lamp:
And now the lamp on the Priore becomes completely free, since nothing else holds it. You can carefully remove it from the seat by grasping the base with your hand:
Precautions When Replacing Bulbs
It should be borne in mind that when installing a new lamp, it is necessary to take only the base, avoiding touching the halogen glass. If you leave an imprint on the surface, then over time it may fail.
If, nevertheless, you accidentally touch the light bulb, then be sure to wipe it dry with a soft cloth, microfiber is perfect for this!
