Oil change in the Largus engine

The plant's recommendation states that the oil change interval in the engine of a Lada Largus car is no more than 15 km. It is this recommendation that should be followed during operation. But under the conditions of everyday urban operation, where you often have to stand in traffic jams, respectively, the engine will work out more hours, it is necessary to change the engine oil a little more often, at least once every 000 km.
You can perform this procedure on your own, and most importantly, have at hand all the tools necessary for this repair. Namely, we need:
- Powerful screwdriver or oil filter puller
- Hammer (in the absence of a puller)
- 10 mm wrench
- Special square for unscrewing the drain plug

This example will show the most common 8-valve engine, which is well known to all Renault Logan owners. To begin with, it is worth warming up the engine to operating temperature. Then drive the car into the inspection hole or lift.
Remove the crankcase protection, if installed. Then we unscrew the drain plug in the oil pan, as is clearly shown in the photo below.
Be sure to substitute a container for draining used old oil so that it does not spill onto the floor, and even more so - onto the ground. Wait a few minutes until all the mining has drained from the pan, then screw the plug into place.
Now you need to unscrew and replace the oil filter. But to get to it, you first need to remove the protective cover (screen) of the exhaust manifold.
And under the manifold on the right side is our oil filter. Which is shown below.
If you have a puller, then you can use it, if not, then a powerful screwdriver and a hammer will help! We break through the old filter with a screwdriver to unscrew it. When installing a new one, it is imperative to lubricate the o-ring at the landing site.
Alternatively, you can fill half the filter capacity before installing it. It is necessary to tighten the filter by hand, without the help of special devices or pullers. Then we unscrew the filler cap:
And fill in fresh engine oil.
Also, we advise you to familiarize yourself with recommendation for the choice of oil in the Lada Largus engine... It is necessary to fill in at a level between the maximum and minimum marks on the dipstick.
We insert the dipstick into place and you can start the engine.
During the first start of the internal combustion engine, the oil pressure warning lamp will be on for a few seconds. Don't worry as this is a completely normal reaction after replacement. It will go out spontaneously within a couple of seconds.
