Changing the oil in the gearbox VAZ 2114
The oil in the VAZ 2114 gearbox must be changed every 60 km, although in practice some owners do this a little more often. And there are those who delay the replacement up to 000 km. Of the necessary tools that we may need, the following is worth noting:
- 17 wrench or ratchet head
- Funnel or cut bottle
- Hose about 30 cm long

This example will be shown on a car of the tenth family, but there will be absolutely no difference, since the design of engines and gearboxes is completely the same.

The first step is that the car's engine is warmed up, thereby the oil in the gearbox will also be warmed up and will drain more easily. After that, we open the hood of the car and take out the dipstick. This is necessary in order for the mining to drain faster.
After that, we perform further actions on the pit or lift. We take a container of at least 4 liters and substitute it under the drain plug. This will visually look like this.
Now we unscrew the plug with a 17 key:
And we wait until all the old oil drains from the crankcase into our container.
We wait a few minutes, and wrap the cork in its place. Now, through the dipstick hole, new oil can be poured into the VAZ 2114 gearbox.
That is, we connect our hose to the cut-off bottle and insert this entire structure into the hole for the probe. And all this is clearly shown in the photo below.
You can control the level of the oil being poured by the marks on the dipstick: that is, the level must be between MAX and MIN. But ideally, it is best to fill in a little more than the maximum. What is it for? It's simple - so that the gears of the fifth gear are better lubricated.
