Gearbox oil change on Grant

On the recommendation of the manufacturer, it is necessary to change the oil in the Lada Grants gearbox at least once every 70 km. This is quite a long time, but even after this considerable mileage, many are too lazy to make a replacement, thinking that this is not at all necessary for the box. But do not forget that any lubricant loses its properties over time and, as a result, ceases to perform its lubricating and washing functions. Therefore, it is better not to delay and change the oil at the checkpoint on the Grant in a timely manner.

In order to perform this procedure yourself, you will need:

  • Canister of fresh transmission oil (4 liters)
  • key 17 or socket head with a knob
  • funnel and hose that needs to be connected together (as was done in this case)

So, before proceeding with this work, you need to drive the car into a hole, or raise its front part with a jack so that you can crawl under the bottom.

We substitute a container under the drain hole and unscrew the plug:

As you can see, it is located in the engine protection hole on the side, and it will not be difficult to find it. After that, it is necessary to remove the dipstick from the gearbox, which is located in the depth of the engine compartment. It is not very convenient to get it out, but if you have thin hands (like mine), then there will be no problems with this:

After all the old oil is glass from the gearbox, we twist the plug into place and insert the hose with a funnel into the filler hole (where the dipstick was). Here is such a device:

As a result, it all looks like this:

The entire canister should not be filled in, since the maximum volume is approximately 3,2 liters, so you must first make sure that the oil level in the Grants gearbox is between the MIN and MAX marks on the dipstick. Do not forget to carry out this operation after every 70 km of run, or better even a little more often - it will only get better.
