Changing the oil in a Nissan Qashqai gearbox

The oil level in the rear axle gearbox is needed every 15 km. Change oil every 000 km or 60 years (whichever comes first). However, sometimes the need to change the oil may arise even earlier: for example, when changing to an oil of a different viscosity, when repairing the rear axle gearbox, etc.

HELPFUL ADVICE.

It is recommended to drain the oil within 15 minutes after the trip, until it has cooled down and acquired good fluidity.

To check the level, top up or change the oil in the rear axle gearbox, do the following:

We unscrew the filler plug with a long hexagon or with an extension cord (everything is visible on the rear gearbox, without any problems the filler is on top and the drain is on the bottom)

The oil level should be at or below the edge of the hole!!!

The differentials (rear gearbox and transfer case) require the same oil, in the amount of one liter for both units.

You will need

• hex key "10"
• syringe
• wide container for draining oil
• original Nissan Differential Fluid oil (number - KE907-99932) - only 1 liter in both nodes.
  
  (Other oils can be used that meet API GL-5 and SAE 80W90 viscosity tolerances)
• sealing washers (number - 11026-4N200) - 4 pcs, 1 for each plug on each

NOTE.

It is more convenient to carry out work on checking the level and changing the oil in the rear axle gearbox on a lift or in a viewing hole.

Replacement procedure

1. Through the hole in the cross member of the rear suspension, loosen the plug of the control hole (filler) located in the rear axle gearbox housing
2. Check the oil level in the rear axle gearbox. The oil level should be at or slightly below the edge of the hole.
3. If the oil level is very low (cannot be checked), fill the oil with a syringe into the hole up to the lower edge of the inspection hole. Replace the oil level plug and fix the oil leak.

5. Unscrew the drain plug (bottom) and drain the oil into a prepared container
6. The drain plug is sealed with an aluminum washer. Remember to replace the washer when installing the drain plug.
7. Use a rag to remove metal chips (if any) from the plug magnet, screw the plug into the drain hole and tighten to 35 Nm.
8. Pour oil into the rear axle gearbox along the edge of the control hole using a special syringe or a regular tube with a watering can.
   
   Screw the plug into the control hole and tighten with a torque of 35 Nm.
