In each car, an integral part of the equipment is a stove, without which heating of the passenger compartment and a comfortable ride are impossible. Sometimes there are problems with the VAZ 2107 heater, which require repair or replacement of some elements.

Many car malfunctions occur with the onset of cold weather, especially for cars of the domestic auto industry. One of the main problems is the inefficient operation of the heating system, due to which the windshield and side windows do not warm up well. Owners of the VAZ 2107 are often faced with a situation where the car's interior simply does not warm up in winter. In this case, there is no need to talk about comfort for passengers and the driver. To understand what the reasons are and to eliminate a possible malfunction, you must first understand the design of the "seven" heater.

To do this, you need to get close to these objects and carefully examine them in good light. After making sure that the problem is not in them, only the radiator remains. By the way, sometimes during a leak, when the stove fan is running, the windshield fogs up and a characteristic smell of antifreeze appears. Once you have found that the heat exchanger is the cause, you will have to remove it and then repair or replace it with a new one.

If the engine is hot, the stove valve is open, but cold air is coming out of the heating system, most likely, the radiator is clogged or the coolant level in the cooling system is low. If there are no problems with the level, then you need to deal with the heat exchanger, you may need to flush it or the entire cooling system. At the same time, the engine heats up, but the pipes going to the radiator from the heater remain cold. In this case, the water pump must be urgently repaired. Hot air may also not enter the cabin due to problems with the stove fan. The problem can be both in the engine itself and in its power circuit, for example, when a fuse blows.

How to change the stove VAZ 2107

Having found out that the heater needs repair, it will require its complete or partial disassembly. If the problem is in the engine, it is enough to remove the lower part of the assembly. In case of problems with the radiator, it is necessary to first drain the coolant from the engine cooling system. To carry out the repair, you will need the following tools:

• Phillips and flathead screwdrivers;
• a set of socket and open-end wrenches.

To replace the stove, you will need a set of wrenches and screwdrivers

Dismantling the heater

After the coolant is drained and the necessary tools are prepared, you can proceed to disassembly. It is carried out in the following order:

1. Remove the negative terminal of the battery.

In the engine compartment, loosen the two clamps that secure the hoses to the heater pipes. When squeezing the hoses, a small amount of antifreeze will pour out.

Having unscrewed the clamps, we tighten the hoses on the radiator pipes

We unscrew the screws and remove the rubber gasket. We unscrew the screws, remove the rubber seal

We move into the salon, unscrew the fastening of the shelf under the glove compartment and remove it. To remove the shelf located under the glove compartment, unscrew the fasteners in the form of self-tapping screws

We remove the panel with the clock and the cigarette lighter, unscrewing the screws on the right, left and bottom. To remove the panel with the clock and cigarette lighter, you will need to unscrew the corresponding screws

We disconnect the cables from the cigarette lighter and the clock, after which we remove the panel to the side. Disconnect the wires from the cigarette lighter and the clock

We disassemble the inner opening of the glove box to remove the right air duct to the side and give access to the heating tap. The left air duct is also removable (when the stove is completely disassembled).

It is necessary to disconnect the right and left air ducts from the heater

With a 7 key, unscrew the screw that holds the crane control cable. With a 7 key, unscrew the cable ties

To partially disassemble the oven, you will need to disassemble the lower part of the body. To do this, pry off the metal latches with a screwdriver (2 on the right and 2 on the left).

To remove the bottom of the heater, you will need to pry off 4 latches with a screwdriver.

Having removed the latches, we pull the bottom towards ourselves and get access to the engine. If repair or replacement of this unit is required, we carry it out.

After dismantling the lower part, access to the heater fan is opened

To disassemble the radiator, we bring it out of the casing along with the crane. To remove the radiator, simply pull it towards you

To completely disassemble the oven, remove the upper part of the housing, which is secured with four 10 mm wrench screws.

To completely disassemble the stove, it is necessary to unscrew 4 turnkey screws by 10

We unscrew the 2 screws that hold the heating control bracket and loosen the screws that hold the rod mounting brackets.

Remove the remains from the oven. After the fastening is unscrewed, remove the upper part of the stove body

In most cases, it is not necessary to completely disassemble the heater. Change, as a rule, a radiator, a crane or an engine.

If only the radiator is replaced, it does not hurt to inspect the electric motor and lubricate it.

Installing a new stove

Installation of the heater does not cause difficulties, since all actions are performed in the reverse order of disassembly. However, there are some points to consider. When replacing the radiator, new rubber seals must be installed without fail. They are pre-lubricated with silicone sealant. The nuts must be tightened without applying much force so as not to overtighten the seals, thereby violating the tightness.

When the heat exchanger is installed in place and the furnace is fully assembled, the edges of the inlet and outlet pipes are lubricated with sealant. If the nozzles are in good condition, that is, the rubber has not cracked, leave them by cleaning the inner cavity with a clean rag. Then put on the hoses and tighten the clamps. After assembly, it remains to fill in the coolant and check the tightness of the connections.

During the operation of the car after repair, you also need to look at the joints for leaks.
