Replacing front and rear shock absorbers with a VAZ 2110

The suspension of the VAZ 2110 car is quite reliable, and its design has been tested by time, starting with the VAZ 2108, but over time everything needs to be repaired, especially if we take into account the quality of our Russian roads. During normal operation, the front shock absorbers of the VAZ 2110 are enough for at least 150 km, but there are different cases: I got into a hole on the road, I got a factory defect in the struts, or the mileage of a car for more than the prescribed service life of the struts.

The biggest problem with this repair will be the rather laborious removal of the spring from the shock absorber, and it is best to use a special puller for this case, as shown in the video. And also the masters of service centers recommend that when replacing the shock absorber, completely change everything, both the boot and the support. Since the boot can deteriorate over time and then tear, and it is he who protects the entire structure from dust and dirt. And another very important point when replacing the front shock absorbers: they must always be changed in pairs, since the characteristics of the car will not improve when only one side is replaced.

It's still easier with the rear shock absorbers, the video is pretty simple and clear. BUT, special attention should be paid to the fact that when the final tightening of the mounting bolts, the car is not jacked up, but stands on the wheels so that the struts are in a lowered state.
