Do-it-yourself pump replacement on a VAZ 2110-2111

Often, it is because of the loose bearing of the water pump (pump) on the VAZ 2110-2111 that the timing belt breaks off. All this is due to the constant vibration of the belt and the edge of the belt, as well as its teeth, wear out very quickly, which can cause breakage. If you notice a strange sound when the engine is running from the timing mechanism, and the tension roller is in good order, then you should pay attention to the pump. You need to throw off the belt and try the gear play. If it is even not so significant, then it is better to replace the pump with a new one.

To do this job, we need the following tool:

  • open-end or ring spanner 17
  • head 10
  • extension
  • rattle or collar

The first step is drain the coolant from the system, and then you can get to work. We unscrew all the bolts securing the plastic timing case and completely remove it from the engine. After which it will be necessary remove timing belt... Now we unscrew the camshaft star by unscrewing the fastening nut with a 17 key and remove it. Then you need to unscrew a few bolts and nuts that secure the inner metal cover, as shown in the photo below:

Then, by simple manipulations, turning it upside down, remove it from the engine:

Since the pump on the VAZ 2110-2111 is attached at the same time as the metal side cover, you don't have to unscrew anything else and you can pry it off with a thick flat screwdriver, as shown clearly in the photo below:

Now we carefully remove this part from the car engine, and in the future we replace it with a new one. The price of the pump for the described models is about 600 rubles. The installation is carried out in the reverse order.
