Nissan Qashqai is a popular model of a well-known Japanese company. In Russia, the car is in great demand, it is regularly found on the roads. Officially sold, therefore adapted to the operating conditions on Russian roads.

Unfortunately, there were some minor flaws, some modules are much worse than others in terms of reliability. This applies, for example, to the stove radiator.

Its breakdown rarely leaves the possibility of recovery, it will almost certainly require replacement with preliminary dismantling.

You can do it yourself, and even a driver without much mechanical repair experience can do this job.

The failure of the radiator is possible for the following reasons:

• Natural wear and tear, the module is constantly subjected to mechanical and thermal stress, due to which the material gradually loses its original strength.
• Use low quality antifreeze or water as an alternative. Poor-quality antifreeze is too aggressive, causes corrosion, the formation of mechanical deposits in the internal pipes, they become so clogged that flushing does not correct the situation.
• Incompatible antifreeze mixture. The components of such compositions actively interact with each other, chemical reactions are triggered that disable the emitter.

Before removing the radiator, it is necessary to exclude the operation of airbags by 100%. If the battery is connected to the on-board network, the airbag may accidentally deploy due to mechanical impact. To prevent this from happening, do the following:

• The key in the ignition lock is turned to the lock position, Lock;
• The negative terminal is removed from the battery;
• A time of 3 minutes is maintained to remove the charge from the auxiliary capacitor.

Replacement involves the sequential execution of the following steps:

• Repair the negative terminal of the car battery.
• Draining antifreeze from the cooling system. Naturally, it is not recommended to use the old composition on a new radiator; it is better to fill in a new one.
• The heater hoses are disconnected from the hood side. They are located on the partition of the engine compartment.

• The polymer sealing element is pressed through the bulkhead of the engine compartment into the passenger compartment. Before this action, it is worth disconnecting the extreme elements of the seal, which are also located in the partition.

• Removing the B-pillar, glove box, radio and trim panels located on the main pillar.
• Disassembly of the control unit, which guarantees the correct operation of the oven and air conditioning system.
• Removing the ECU. Complete disassembly is not required, you just need to move the unit a little to the side, this will provide fairly easy access to the radiator.
• Racks are located in the area of ​​the front panel. As a rule, in Qashqai they are painted in a golden tone and fixed directly on the ground. It is necessary to disconnect the fasteners from the left floor element, the bolts fixing the connecting wires.
• Disassembly of panels by unscrewing the screws. It should be noted that the fasteners are quite tight, they must be carefully unscrewed so as not to tear off the head.
• The screws fixing the main air duct are unscrewed.
• Disassembly of the channel and gate. The damper sits directly above the radiator, so removing it will make it easier to interact with the main body.
• Loosen the nuts that hold the evaporator.
• Loosen the accelerator pedal upper arm stud nut.
• Disassembly of nuts, studs.
• After removing the heating element, to do this, gently pull down.
• After removing the heater kit, the screws are unscrewed and the clamp holding the heater tubes is dismantled.

When installing a new part, all work is carried out in the reverse order, the sequence of actions must also be strictly observed.

An important point - it will not work to reuse the nuts that fix the evaporator in the partition of the engine compartment. In advance, you need to buy a new set, not necessarily original, enough fittings of similar dimensions and configuration.

I bought an original radiator in disassembly for 1800, looked carefully and realized that it was not difficult to get the pipes out of the grooves by bending them slightly. So I decided to take action. Only at first I completely turned off the stove, connecting the inlet and outlet of the motor with a hose.

Then he pressed his lips against the pipes of the current radiator. He pulled the radiator out of the plastic groove. I replaced the radiator with a new one, squeezing the lips on all sides with special pliers. He connected the supply lines.

The radiator worked. It turned out, of course, not perfect, there were traces of pliers in the grooves, but the main thing is that everything works. All costs are 1800 and there is no need to waste time disassembling a torpedo. One can, of course, argue whether it was necessary to do so or not. But I tried and everything went well, maybe my experience will help some of you.
