Replacing the expansion tank with a VAZ 2106

This problem with the expansion tank was relevant in ancient times, when, instead of antifreeze, car owners poured ordinary water and with the onset of frost, not having time to drain the water from the radiator in time, it froze and the expansion tank burst.

But sometimes it also happens that the tank fails for other reasons, one of which is mechanical damage. In this case, a complete replacement of the expansion tank will be necessary. Fortunately, the replacement procedure is extremely simple and it will not be difficult to install a new one.

For this procedure, you will need a 10 wrench and a screwdriver to unscrew the hose clamp at the bottom of the tank. If there is coolant in the system, it will need to be drained. Or, you can simply plug the bottom hole of the expander when removing.

We unscrew the hose clamp and the tank fastener and install the new one in the reverse order. First, it is necessary to anoint the hose and the tip of the tank with a sealant so that there are no leaks. Fill with coolant up to the mark between MIN and MAX and tighten the plug. Everything is ready, you won't even have to spend more than 15 minutes on this work.
