Replacing the resonator with a VAZ 2107-2105

The exhaust system of VAZ 2107 and 2105 cars is reliable and burns out quite rarely if you use original spare parts for your car. But if you have already traveled more than 50-70 thousand km, then it is possible that the factory resonator may also burn out. Replacement is not difficult, and it can be done at home, and it is advisable to carry out this procedure on a pit or a lift.

It is also worth noting that you will need the following list of tools:

• Open-end or box spanner 13
• Ratchet or crank
• Head for 10 and 13 (deep)

So, after the car is driven into the pit, it is necessary to carefully spray penetrating grease on the bolts and nuts of the resonator and muffler fastening on both sides. After some time has passed, you can unscrew them. First, we loosen the clamp fastening nuts on the muffler side:

Then knock the resonator tube off the muffler. Then we also unscrew the front part of the resonator, which is attached with a clamp to the pants (intake pipe):

Next, you need to unscrew the handbrake cable, since it will interfere with us when removing:

Then we try to disconnect the resonator from the pants by rolling it from side to side. Usually, even if he got used to it, with some effort, you can do without unnecessary sacrifices. As a result, the following picture is obtained:

We finally release the resonator from under the car and replace it with a new one.

The price of a new part is about 500-800 rubles. This price range is due to the difference in production.
