Replacing the steering rods on the Priora with your own hands

The steering rods on domestic cars and on the Priora, including, change in exceptional cases, and most often this happens due to their damage during an accident. Although, even with a severe accident, they can remain unharmed. But if you are unlucky and the rods are deformed during the impact, then you need to replace them with new ones. To complete this simple repair, you will need the following tool:

1. Socket head 22
2. Tie rod puller
3. Spanners 17 and 19
4. Crank and ratchet handle
5. Key for 10
6. Flat blade screwdriver

As for the replacement of these parts, below we will try to give a detailed description of this procedure. So, first of all, you need to remove the cotter pin of the ball pin of the steering tip, and then unscrew the fastening nut. Then, using a special puller, you need to remove the finger from the strut knuckle. This is shown more clearly in steering tips replacement guide.

Now you need to go to the other side of the link, where it is attached to the steering rack. First of all, using a 10 key, unscrew the fastening of the protective metal casing from above and slightly pull it back. Then you can bend the locking washers with a screwdriver:

And after that, unscrew the fastening bolt:

And slightly loosening the second bolt of the other rod to lower the plate, remove the rod from the rail, as shown in the photo below:

And now we take out the traction from the outside without any problems:

It is also worth unscrewing the steering tip and the adjusting sleeve, then screw it all onto a new rod before installing it in its place. Replacement is carried out in the reverse order.
