Do-it-yourself replacement of a starter on a VAZ 2114

The device and fastening of the starter on all front-wheel drive cars with an 8-valve engine is almost the same and the replacement procedure for a VAZ 2114 will not differ much from the same operation on another car, such as a VAZ 2110 or Kalina. To do this, you need a regular 13 wrench, and you can also use a ratchet head to do everything quickly and conveniently.

Getting to the starter on a VAZ 2114 is not very convenient, since the air filter housing will interfere. It will need to be removed to gain free access. After nothing gets in the way, you can unscrew the terminal fasteners to the solenoid relay. They are fastened with nuts that must be unscrewed:

When the nut is unscrewed, it is necessary to disconnect one more wiring, which is located above, it is also visible in the photo:

Now you need to unscrew the nuts securing the starter to the gearbox housing, as shown in the photo below more clearly:

There are starters that are mounted on 2 studs, and there are three. So this should be taken into account when dismantling. When all the nuts are unscrewed, you can carefully remove the starter from the studs and remove it from the engine compartment:

If it needs to be replaced, then we buy a new one, the price of which is approximately 3000 rubles and we install it in the reverse order.
