Replacing the stabilizer struts Lancer 9

Today we will consider how the stabilizer struts are replaced with Lancer 9. There is nothing complicated in the process, but you need to have a certain tool and know some points that we will talk about in this article.

Tool

• balonnik for wheel removal;
• jack;
• key + head for 17 (you can just two keys for 17, but it will be less convenient).

Please note that if the stabilizer post has already been changed, then the nut and bolt may be of a different size.

Replacement Algorithm

We unscrew, hang up and remove the desired front wheel. The location of the stabilizer post is shown in the photo below.

First of all, unscrew the top nut with a head or a 17 key. It often happens that the bushing that stands in the middle of the rack sticks. In this case, there are two options:

• saw off the head of the bolt from below with a grinder;
• or we heat the sleeve, so it will be easier to remove it (you can heat it either with a blowtorch or with a hair dryer).

After that, take out the rest of the rack from the holes and you can proceed to installing a new stabilizer rack.

We thread the bolt, do not forget to put on all the rubber bands and the corresponding washers (the set should include 4 rubber bands + 4 washers + a central sleeve).

How much should the stabilizer bar be tightened?

It is necessary to tighten in such a way that the distance from the beginning of the thread to the tightened nut is approximately 22 mm (an error of 1 mm is allowed).
