Replacement stabilizer struts Nissan X-Trail

The process of replacing the stabilizer struts on the Nissan X-Trail is absolutely not difficult and you can do it yourself, and this material will help you with this. Below will be described the necessary tools, useful tips, as well as photos for a more accurate understanding of the process.

Tool

  • balonnik for wheel removal;
  • jack;
  • key for 18 (or head for 18);
  • open-end wrench for 21 (you can use an adjustable wrench);
  • preferably one thing: a second jack, a block for lining under the lower arm, assembly.

Replacement Algorithm

We start by hanging the desired front wheel and removing it. You can see the location of the stabilizer bar in the photo.

Next, you need to unscrew the 2 fasteners (upper and lower nuts) of the stabilizer rack with a key of 18.

We recommend that you clean the threads in advance and spray VD-40, the nuts very often sour.

Important! If the finger itself begins to scroll along with the nut, then it must be held with a 21 key (in the place immediately after the boot).

After unscrewing both nuts, we take out the rack. If it does not come out easily, then:

  • it is necessary to raise the lower lever with a second jack to remove the tension of the stabilizer;
  • either place a block under the lower arm and lower the main jack;
  • or by mounting, bend the stabilizer itself and pull out the stand, similarly insert a new one into the holes.

The assembly is carried out in the same way, except, perhaps, that instead of a key for 21, you will have to hold the stabilizer post finger with a hexagon (on different posts in different ways, depending on the manufacturer).
