Replacing the stabilizer struts Renault Duster
Today we will consider the process of replacing the stabilizer struts with Renault Duster. The work is not difficult, you just need to have the right tool and know some of the nuances that we will list in this article.
Tool
- balonnik for unscrewing the wheel;
- jack;
- key 16 (if you still have factory racks);
- hexagon 6;
- preferably one thing: a second jack, a block (it will be necessary to put it under the lower arm), an assembly.
Notethat the new stabilizer struts can come with nuts of a different size (most often 17 nuts).
Replacement Algorithm
We raise the car with a jack, remove the front wheel. The location of the stabilizer mounts is shown in the photo below.
Clean threads and spray WD-40 as the nuts often sour.
We unscrew the nuts with a 16 key. If the fingers turn together with the nuts, then they must be held with a 6 hexagon (it is possible that the fingers will need to be held on the new stands not with a hexagon, but with a wrench, pay attention in advance and prepare the necessary tool).
If the post will not come out of the holes, then it is necessary to reduce the extension of the stabilizer, for this:
- lift the lower arm with the second jack;
- either place a block under the lower arm and lower the main jack;
