Replacing the stabilizer struts Skoda Yeti

In this article, we will look at the process of replacing the stabilizer struts with a Skoda Yeti. The replacement process is not difficult, it is enough to prepare all the necessary tools and half an hour or an hour of free time. Let's consider the required tool.

Tool

  • jack;
  • key for 18 (Important! depending on the manufacturer of the new rack, you may need a 19 key, or a second key for 18).
  • balonnik (for unscrewing the wheels);
  • it is advisable to have a second jack or a block of such height instead that it can be placed under the lower arm (alternatively, you can use a crowbar).

Replacement Algorithm

We unscrew, hang out and remove the desired wheel. The location of the front stabilizer link is shown in the photo below.

It is necessary to unscrew the lower and upper nuts (if the rack is still original, then with a key of 18).

When unscrewing the nut, the stabilizer post pin may twist and you will not be able to unscrew the nut. To do this, you must hold the finger either with an internal hexagon, if the rack is original, or with a second key of 18.

If the stand does not come out well from the holes, then it is necessary to raise the lower arm with the second jack (the stand will come out of tension), or also place a block under the lower arm and lower the main jack. In extreme cases, bend the stabilizer itself with a crowbar and pull out the rack.

Installation is similar.
