Replacing spark plugs on Priora 16 valves
The spark plugs on the Lada Priora must be changed once every 30 km. At least this period is given by the manufacturer according to the regulations for replacement. Difference from the usual 000-cl. engines is that on 8-valve engines the candles are in a recess, and that is why certain difficulties arise when performing this work.
So, in order to replace the spark plugs on a 16-valve Priore, we need:
- Special spark plug wrench or 16 special head with sealing rubber
- Crank or ratchet handle
- Extension
- 10mm ratchet head

So, first we need to remove the upper engine cover (black plastic trim).
In the photo above, the arrows indicate the ignition coils, and each of them must first be removed. To do this, remove the plug from each and unscrew the fastening bolts, each is dismantled separately.
[colorbl style="green-bl"] As mentioned above, it's best to use a special candle head with a rubber ring inside to grip the candle itself. Accordingly, after unscrewing, you will not have to experience difficulties with removing it from the well, since the elastic band fixes it tightly.[/colorbl]
And we take out the candle, since it sits tightly in the head:
We carry out the same operations with the rest of the cylinders.
[colorbl style=”green-bl”]Please note that when screwing in new spark plugs, the tightening torque of the threaded connections must be strictly observed. For this car, it ranges from 31 to 39 Nm. If you overtighten, you can break the thread, which in the end will entail extra spending.[/colorbl]
A set of new candles at the moment can be bought at a price of 200 to 2000 rubles per set. As you can see, the choice is quite large and it all depends on the size of your wallet. Although, the same factory Brisk Super go their 30 km. no problem.
