Replacing the rear wheel brake cylinder with a VAZ 2114-2115
The problem with the rear brake cylinders is often found on cars of the VAZ 2114-2115 family, in which case the liquid begins to leak from under the rubber bands, as a result of which, when the brake pedal is pressed, the desired effect is not achieved and the braking becomes sluggish. There is another problem that may arise as a result of a malfunction of one of the cylinders - this is the removal of the car from rectilinear movement, since one rear wheel brakes normally, and the second with a delay.
Replacing the rear brake cylinder with a VAZ 2114-2115 is quite simple and you can do all this yourself, having at hand the tool, which is described below:
- head 10
- crank
- ratchet
- lubricant penetrating if necessary
- brake pipe split wrench
First you need to perform some actions, without which the implementation of this repair will be impossible:
- First, jack up the rear of the vehicle.
- Remove the wheel
- Remove the rear pads
After that, very little remains to be done. First of all, we unscrew the brake pipe from the inside of the cylinder mount, as shown in the photo just below:
Then take it to the side and lift the fittings up so that the brake fluid does not flow out of it:
Then it remains to unscrew the two bolts securing the rear brake cylinder, which is more clearly shown in the picture below:
And after that, this part can be easily removed from the outside, since nothing else holds it:
If, nevertheless, there are some difficulties, then you can pry the cylinder with a thin flat screwdriver, since sometimes there are cases that it sticks quite tightly to its place. Now you can start replacing. You can buy a new rear wheel brake cylinder on a VAZ 2114-2115 at a price of around 300-350 rubles apiece. The installation is carried out in the reverse order. Most likely, after performing this procedure, you will need to bleed the car's brake system.
