Replacing brake drums on Priora

Over time, the braking efficiency of the Lada Priora can be significantly reduced and this can happen for the following reasons:

1. Front or rear pad wear
2. Wear on drums or brake discs

Today we will consider the problem with the drums and show in more detail the process of replacing these parts on the Lada Priora car.

So, first of all, you should pay attention to the necessary tool:

• Hammer
• 7 mm deep head
• Ratchet handle or small crank

First of all, it is necessary to rip off the rear wheel bolts, then raise the car with a jack and finally unscrew the bolts, remove the wheel.

Now we take the key and unscrew the two guide pins of the wheel:

When this is done, you can try to knock the drum from the back side by lightly tapping the edges with a hammer:

You need to act very carefully so as not to chip off the edges of the drum. If nothing can be done in this way, then we try a more reliable option. It is necessary to screw the guide pins into the holes of the drum, which are intended for this. The photo below clearly shows:

It is necessary to tighten the studs strictly evenly so that there are no distortions. Thus, it should smoothly pull together from the semi-axis, after which we remove it to the end with our hands, as shown in the photo below:

It should be borne in mind that it is only necessary to replace the brake drums on the Priora in pairs, since they wear out almost always evenly. Also, it is best to install new rear pads right away. Installation is carried out in reverse order. The price of new drums in the store is about 700 rubles per piece or 1400 rubles per set!
