If there are squeaks from the front wheels of the car, you should pay attention to the condition of the parts of the brake system:
- Brake discs
- Front pad linings
- Cylinders and calipers
Also, with a decrease in the effectiveness of the brakes, carefully inspect the condition of the brake discs, or rather, measure the thickness of the working surface.
[colorbl style="blue-bl"]If your VAZ 2114 has regular rims, then the minimum allowable thickness should be 10,8 mm. If there are ventilated ones, then in this case the value should be at least 17,8 mm.[/colorbl]
From the tool you will need:
- Wheel wrench jack
- 7 and 17 mm wrenches
- Hammer
- Collar, ratchet and extension
Only in the photo, instead of a key for the 7th display, it is split (we will not need it in this case), it is worth considering this.
Removal and installation of brake discs on VAZ 2114 and 2115
To begin with, we will need to complete some preparatory moments, namely:
- Jack up the vehicle
- Unscrew and remove the front wheel
- Remove the caliper assembly with pads
Now you can proceed directly to the very procedure for removing the discs. To do this, turn off the two guide pins with a 7 key.
Then, on the reverse side, we try to knock down the VAZ 2114 brake disc with a hammer, and you can use a wooden spacer so as not to damage the surface. Although, if you change them anyway, then you don't need to worry too much about this.
Usually, after several blows, it still turns out to knock this part off the hub. If everything sits quite firmly, then you will have to look for a special puller with rotary grips. You can more clearly see this repair in the video below.
