Replacing the air filter on a VAZ 2110-2112

The air filter on a VAZ 2110-2112 car, meaning injection models, must be changed every 30 km. It is this recommendation that is indicated on the air cleaner housing, and the same numbers are indicated in many books on repair and operation. Of course, it is necessary to listen to this, but still, it is better to monitor the condition of the filter yourself and replace it more often than all the manuals and AvtoVAZ itself advise.

In order to replace the filter, you will need one Phillips screwdriver, and nothing else from the tools, and of course a new filter element.

We open the hood of our car and unscrew 4 bolts at the corners of the case with a screwdriver:

If the plug of the mass air flow sensor interferes, then it must be disconnected by simply pressing the latch a little and remove the plug, as it is more clearly shown in the photo below:

After that, in theory, nothing should interfere and you can gently pry off the housing cover, and then remove the old air filter with your hands.

When it is removed, it is imperative to purge and clean the inside of the case well so that there are no dust particles there. The installation of a new filter takes place in the reverse order, the main thing is that the sealing gum sits well in its place, otherwise the dust will get into the power system (injector) and then you can get a decent repair of your VAZ 2110-2112 ..

If for the most part you operate your car in the city, then the replacement will not be so frequent, and 20 km, in principle, can be driven. But for the village, such runs will not lead to anything good. The first in which case the DMRV will suffer, the cost of which is quite high.
