Replacing the rear brake cylinder on Grant
The rear brake cylinders on a Lada Grant car have to be changed extremely rarely and this is done in the following cases:
- The appearance of a leak from under the rubber bands of the pistons of the cylinders
- Seizure of cylinders in one position
To carry out this repair, the following tools are required:
- head for 7 and 10 mm
- rattle or collar
- split wrench for brake pipes
- penetrating lubricant

So, the first step is to remove the rear brake drum, which is shown well in of this manual.
After that, it is necessary to loosen the brake pipe fastening nut from the inside, as shown in the photo below.
Then we unscrew the two cylinder mounting bolts from the outside, which is clearly shown below.
Now we finally turn off the brake pipe.
From the inside, take out the brake cylinder, spreading the pads slightly on the sides.
Installing a new one takes place in reverse order. Replacement is done in the same way, both on one side and on the other. A new brake cylinder for the rear wheel on Grant can be purchased at a price of 200 rubles apiece. After performing this repair, it will be necessary to bleed the brake system in order to expel all the air from the pipes.
