Replacing the rear brake pads Mercedes W204

We are repairing a Mercedes C class car in the back of W204, in which it is necessary to replace the rear brake pads and discs. We will show you detailed photo and video instructions on how to do it yourself quickly and correctly.

We tear out the wheel bolts and raise the car, if you do this with a jack, then for safety reasons do not forget to place bricks or other wedges under the front wheels.

Using a screwdriver or round-nose pliers, remove the retaining spring:

Remove the protective caps from the guides. With a hexagonal drill for 7, we turn off the guides:

Using a sturdy metal object, you can pry the pads off with a flathead screwdriver:

We raise the caliper so that it does not interfere with us and does not hang on the brake hose, tying it to the spring. With a head of 18, unscrew the two screws securing the caliper bracket:

We remove the bracket and carefully clean the seats of the brake pads, if this is neglected, then in the future squeaks may appear during braking. Using a Torx T30 bit, unscrew the screw securing the brake disc:

In most cases, the brake discs seize and require several blows with a hammer to remove them:

We clean the seat under the disk with a metal brush, then I recommend lubricating it with copper grease so that there are no problems with sticking in the future. We install a new brake disc, tighten the fixing screw. Replace caliper bracket. Using a clamp or other improvised means, we compress the piston in the caliper:

We introduce one of the tablets into the clamp:

The other is on a stand. We install the caliper in place and fasten its fasteners. We lay the clamping spring, this can be done using pliers or a screwdriver:

We put the wheel in place, on the other hand, the replacement is carried out in the same way. Before setting off, fully depress the brake pedal several times while the engine is running. Remember that new brake pads and discs will initially rub against each other, so the quality of braking will decrease, be prepared for this.
