Replacing the ignition switch on a VAZ 2114

The ignition lock on VAZ 2114 cars has the same design as other front-wheel drive VAZ cars. That is, its fastening is completely similar. To complete this procedure, we need the following tool:
- Phillips screwdriver
- Thin, narrow and sharp chisel
- Hammer
- Socket head 10 mm
- Ratchet or crank
- Extension

There is a small caveat: this repair will be shown on the example of a VAZ car of the tenth family, but in fact it differs only in the fastening of the steering column cover. Otherwise, the whole procedure is completely identical.
If suddenly something became incomprehensible from the video, then below there will be a small description in the form of a regular report with an explanation of each step.

First of all, we unscrew all the bolts securing the steering column cover and remove it completely so that it does not interfere with us. Next, you need to disconnect the plug from the left steering column switch, and remove the switch itself, since in the future it will interfere.
After that, using a chisel, it is necessary to unscrew all the fastening bolts of the lock holder, as shown in the photo below.
If the caps were not torn off, then this can be done with a regular key or a head of 10. But in most cases, the lock is installed in such a way that the caps are round so that they cannot be quickly unscrewed.
Then we finally unscrew them with our hands:
And now you can remove the clip when all the bolts are unscrewed. The lock will be loose at this time, so hold it on the back.
And all that remains is to disconnect the plug with the power wires from the ignition switch, after which you can install the new part in the reverse order. The price of the lock is about 700 rubles for the original Avtovaz kit.
As for tear-off hats, it is best to actually tear them off, as it should be when replacing.
