Sticking a salon mirror is not a difficult task and you can do it yourself. You can buy ready-made kits for pasting mirrors in car dealerships or glass replacement services. The kit includes a metal leg that is attached to the glass, and a special adhesive to compensate for differences in thermal expansion of glass and metal. If you decide to do the repair yourself, carefully follow the instructions.
Special set
The first step is to thoroughly clean the surface and remove the remnants of old glue. This must be done carefully so as not to damage the glass. Then degrease the surface and glue can be applied. But before that, it is best to try on whether everything fits, because after applying the glue, we have only 30 seconds to fit the mirror. Errors cannot be corrected later. After about 15 minutes, the mirror is glued permanently. Prices for mirror gluing kits are very different - from 15 to 150 zł.
other methods
The interior mirror can also be glued on with special double-sided tape, but the repair will only be effective with light-colored mirrors, such as those used in some Ford Fiesta, Mondeo and Escort models. The cost of such a tape is really symbolic and amounts to PLN 2,31. Heavier mirrors will definitely not stick and will fall off after a short time.
You can also use automotive glass glue to stick the mirror on. It is best to perform such an operation on the site. This will be the cheapest, because you need a small amount of glue for gluing, and only large packages are on sale. A few days after opening the package, the adhesive is unsuitable for further use. The disadvantage of this method is the very long drying time of the glue, even up to 20 hours, and the need to effectively and permanently attach the mirror while the glue dries. But in some cases, only this method is effective. The cost of such a service ranges from 15 to 30 zlotys.
We do not recommend the use of universal adhesives as they are not effective and may damage the glass.
