Liquids for tourist toilets: action, types, instructions

Liquids for tourist toilets are mandatory equipment for campers and caravans. Whether we use a portable camp toilet or a built-in cassette toilet in the bathroom, a good camp toilet fluid will provide us with comfort and convenience.

Why use travel toilet liquid?

Travel toilet liquid (or other chemicals available, for example, in capsules or sachets) is intended to keep the toilet clean. The liquid dissolves the contents of the tanks, eliminates unpleasant odors and makes the tanks easier to empty.

An important function of toilet chemicals is also the dissolution of toilet paper. Otherwise, excess paper may block the drainage channels of the toilet cassette. However, remember that it is best to use special, quickly dissolving paper in toilets. 

How to use toilet chemicals? 

Toilet chemicals are available in various forms. One of the most popular is, of course, a liquid that we mix with water in the appropriate proportion. Pour the specified amount of water into the bowl according to the manufacturer's instructions. 

Other available solutions are so-called hygiene tablets. These are small capsules, so storing them even in a small bathroom is not a problem. They are usually packaged in soluble foil - their use is convenient and safe for health. There are also sachets available. 

What to put in a tourist toilet?

Chemicals for a tourist toilet must, first of all, be effective. It should eliminate unpleasant odors from the toilet and “liquefy” the entire contents of the tank, which will prevent clogging and clogging of the holes used for emptying. Most of the products on the market have a very similar operating principle. 

For many caravanners, it is important that food be available. One such solution is Aqua Ken Green sachets from Thetford. These are environmentally friendly products, so the contents of toilet cassettes can be poured into a septic tank (ISO 11734 test). Aqua Ken Green not only eliminates unpleasant odors and breaks down toilet paper and feces, but also reduces the accumulation of gases. Liquid travel toilet, such as Aqua Kem Blue Concentrated Eucaliptus, has very similar functions to the sachets discussed above. One dose is enough for a maximum of 5 days or until the cassette is full. 

How to empty a travel toilet?

Toilets should be emptied. They can be found at campgrounds, RV parks and some roadside parking lots.

Is it possible to use household chemicals in tourist toilets? 

Strong disinfectants used in home toilets are not suitable for use in travel toilets. The strong chemicals they are made from can destroy the materials of the toilet and cassettes. Let's use proven and specialized solutions so that all our road trips bring only pleasant impressions.
