Winter, like no other season, can leave its devastating marks on a car. It's time to erase them.

Most signs of winter activity can be found on the body, which must be inspected before a thorough inspection.  wash thoroughly, including the lower parts of the body, wheel arches and doorways. First of all, we are looking for pockets of corrosion, which must at least be protected as quickly as possible, and preferably professionally removed and repaired. If we don't do this, the rust will eat through the sheet metal in a few months. In addition to the obvious rust spots, they also require immediate action where the outer layer of paint has blistered. Inside such "bubbles" the corrosion process is usually strongly developed. The rust was caused by moisture penetrating the sheet metal through microscopic cracks in the paintwork. In no case should the repair of such places be postponed and it consists in stripping them to bare metal, applying a primer and re-varnishing. You can do it yourself.

 Do not underestimate any damage to the varnish in the form of scratches of different depths, especially when the primer layer is already damaged. If the body plate is not covered, rust will quickly attack it. Light scratches can be buffed out with an appropriate grit polishing paste.

In addition to visible signs of corrosion and scratches of various depths, our attention should also not be overlooked by minor paint loss. You can find them mostly in the front of the body and around the sills. In most cases, this is the result of throwing small stones from under the wheels. In less noticeable places, use a thin brush to fill the varnish in tone.
