Spike sign: where to glue according to the rules?

There are a number of signs that, according to the rules of the road, drivers must stick to the rear or front glass of their car.

Mandatory include:

  • novice driver;
  • studded tires;
  • deaf driver;
  • disabled.

If we are talking about passenger or freight transport, then the following signs are mandatory:

  • transportation of children;
  • road train;
  • speed limit - reduced copy of road sign 3.24 (Speed limit);
  • bulky or dangerous goods;
  • low-speed mode of transport;
  • long length.

In addition, there are a number of stickers that are not mandatory, but they can also be seen on the rear or front windows of cars:

  • doctor - red cross;
  • lady's shoe - a woman driving;
  • Baby On Board - there is a child in the car.

There are a huge number of different stickers that do not fulfill any special role: "The crew is looking for a stewardess", "To Berlin", "Victory" or even "Attention driving a blind man" and so on.

Spike sign: where to glue according to the rules?

A logical question arises - where, according to the rules, is it necessary or possible to glue the signs?

The rules of the road do not clearly spell out where to hang this or that sign. It is only indicated that they must be placed “behind motor vehicles”. The most important rule is that since this sticker performs a warning function, it must be clearly visible, but at the same time not interfere with the driver himself. Teachers and instructors in driving schools are advised to hang such signs in the upper left or right corner of the rear window.

Please also note that there are many different types of car bodies, we have already talked about them on Vodi.su: sedan, hatchback, station wagon, SUV, pickup truck. Therefore, for sedans, the best position for placing signs is the top of the rear window, because if you hang the sign from below, then if you have a long trunk, like many American cars, the light will bounce off the paintwork and the sign can simply be overlooked.

The appendices to the rules of the road say that such signs are placed behind vehicles:

  • novice driver;
  • studded tires.

Regarding the following stickers, it is indicated that they can be placed in front and behind vehicles:

  • doctor;
  • deaf driver;
  • disabled.

If everything is clear with the rear window - signs can be glued anywhere, as long as they are clearly visible to traffic participants who are driving behind you - then where to hang stickers on the front glass?

Spike sign: where to glue according to the rules?

The Vodi.su team has already dealt with this issue, about which there is an article about fines for stickers on the windshield. The windshield provides good visibility, so it does not need to be pasted over with anything, much less weighted. The fine for stickers that do not comply with the rules is 500 rubles.

Therefore, the ideal location for signs on the windshield is in the upper or lower right corner (on the driver's side). It is best to stick the signs on the outside, as this way they will be more visible, in addition, many glasses have heating threads, so when removing the sticker, these threads can be accidentally damaged.

If your rear windows are covered with a tinted film, then the sign must be attached to the outside of the glass.

Among other things, the rules do not state anywhere that the sticker must be on the glass, that is, you can stick it near the rear lights, as long as it does not overlap the license plates.

Thus, we come to the conclusion that the rules of the road and the basic provisions for the admission of vehicles for operation do not regulate where exactly one or another sign should be glued. In addition, no one has the right to write out fines for the lack of signs of spikes, a disabled person, a deaf driver, a novice driver.
