Top 10 most expensive used cars in the last 12 months in the US.

Buying a used car may no longer be as affordable as it was in years past. Prices for this type of vehicle have risen so much that the cost is almost equal to the new model. Here we will tell you which 10 models have increased in price the most over the past year.

If you've been thinking about buying a new or used car recently, you probably walked out of the dealership with a big surprise. According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average price of used cars rose more than 35% in March from 12 months earlier.

This has been the case for several months: while March's used-car inflation figure was slightly lower than the previous three months, it was the 12th straight month of double-digit car inflation.

Why are used car prices rising?

Much of this sustained price increase can be attributed to the global microchip shortage, which continues to slow new car production. In addition, fewer new car transactions create their own used car shortage, as these would-be buyers do not trade or sell their old cars. These problems with the supply of new and used vehicles will remain with us for a while.

The smallest and most economical used cars get the best price

High inflation affects not only cars: now everything is becoming more expensive. The Russian invasion of Ukraine has driven gasoline prices up nearly 20% from February to March and up almost 50% from 12 months earlier. According to a recent analysis by iSeeCars, this hit to the budget has had a direct impact on demand for smaller, fuel efficient vehicles.
