24.08.2000/XNUMX/XNUMX | The biggest traffic jam in the world is unloaded

We are used to the fact that in China everything should be big. Large cities in China are home to the population of small European countries, which also affects the number of cars, and hence traffic jams. We've all complained about delays on the city's ring roads or motorways, but our problems with the closed A4 are nothing compared to the traffic jam that started on August 14, 2000 and only cleared up 10 days later.

In a week and a half, a 100 km traffic jam formed, forcing drivers to stop or move at low speed.

An extremely unpleasant situation for drivers occurred on the road between Beijing and the city of Huai'an. Interestingly, the congestion was not caused by a powerful collision or the collapse of a fragment of the road. The problem was too many cars, especially trucks, which, combined with roadworks, created the longest traffic jam in the world, both in length and duration.
