We know about the "black box" thanks to airplanes. This is the final device of the registration system for recording the main flight parameters, internal indicators of the functioning of the aircraft systems, crew negotiations, etc. In the event of an accident, the data contained in the black box allows you to analyze what happened and, therefore, make decisions that will help improve the safety of the road movement.

Black boxes were introduced in the 50s and have retained this name despite the fact that today they are orange, much brighter color, which facilitates their detection after a disaster.

The idea of ​​using a device that "records" vehicle activity is not new; in fact, these devices exist and can be installed in a car. The price will depend, of course, on the functionality and characteristics of the device, but for less than 500 euros.

The key to the black box for a car is that it includes video cameras that are installed at various points in the car and that continuously record what is happening. Some boxes will also have anti-theft functions.

By the way, it’s proved that those drivers who drive a car equipped with a camera that records their driving, more careful. 

The main stumbling block faced by black boxes is legislation, which greatly protects the rights to intimacy and privacy. 

Nevertheless, everything indicates the possibility that soon new vehicles will be equipped with them en masse.
