AC Cobra is now available with an electric version

The British manufacturer AC Cars Ltd has recently expanded its catalog by adding a 100% electric version of its AC Cobra Series 1, as well as a new offer with a 2,3-liter four-cylinder engine borrowed from the latest Ford Mustang.

Electric AC Cobra Series1, as its name implies, will be produced in a limited quantity, only 58 units. The number refers to the release 58 years ago of the first AC Cobra, which was then powered by a Ford V8 engine.

If the electric Cobra is visually identical to what it was in 1962, the silence of the engine will be impressive thanks to an electric drive system with a power of 230 kW (312 hp) and 250 Nm (500 Nm at the peak), powered by a battery of 54 kW / h . All this will allow the electric cobra, which weighs less than 1250 kg, to travel 150 miles (241 km) without recharging and accelerate to “hundreds” in just 6,2 seconds.

Four color options (blue, black, white or green) will be available for the electric model, which costs 138 pounds without taxes (000 euros). First deliveries are expected before the end of this year.

In addition to the AC Cobra Series1 electric motor, AC Cars also offers a new four-cylinder 2,3-liter engine with 354 hp. and 440 Nm. It will be installed on the AC Cobra 140 Charter Edition. This version, which accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in just 6 seconds, is priced at £ 85 without taxes (€ 000).
