Active Curve System - active slope reduction

Active Curve System - active slope reductionThe Active Curve System is a system that reduces body roll.

Active Curve is an active tilt reduction system that aims to increase safety and security when cornering quickly while providing better terrain. The active curve system is used, for example, by Mercedes-Benz. Unlike BMW's similar Adaptive Drive system, which uses electric motors to control the stabilizers, Mercedes' Active Curve System uses Airmatic air suspension. The Active Curve System is a combination of air suspension and ADS adaptive dampers, resulting in reduced body roll when cornering. Depending on the amount of lateral acceleration, the system hydraulically adjusts the stabilizer on the front and rear axles. The pressure is supplied by a separate pump, the oil reservoir is located in the engine compartment. Acceleration sensors, safety valves, pressure sensors and the control unit are located directly in the vehicle chassis.
