Adam Kid. Former jumper taught how to behave safely on the road Pupils of one of the Silesian schools will remember this safety lesson for a long time. The youngest spoke about traffic safety rules with Adam Malysh. The Polish ski jumping legend held online classes together with the Chief Inspector of Road Transport.

– Road safety is important. When I was your age, I didn't understand very well how to behave on the road. There were no such opportunities back then. Now such actions are doing a great job, - Adam Malysh emphasized, starting a lesson on road safety.

The Polish ski jumping icon has been teaching online from Slovenia, where Polish jumpers compete in the World Cup.

The lesson was attended by students of Tadeusz Kosciuszko Primary School in Rębielice Szlacheckie. This is another facility that, despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, thanks to a new educational project of the Road Traffic Inspectorate, was able to continue safety education.

The pandemic forced us to change. We can't be with you right now, so we're meeting online. It is very important to us that we can teach safety and warn of dangers from an early age. I am glad that today we can meet, that we will study traffic safety rules together in an attractive way - there will be riddles, animated films, and a multimedia presentation. I want you to grow up and become safe road users,” said Elvin Gajadhur, Chief Inspector of Road Transport.

The youngest road users learned, among other things, the basic rules of the road, the meaning of road signs, emergency numbers, traffic rules, the need to fasten seat belts and wear reflective elements. The children actively participated in the lesson and did an excellent job with road safety issues.

- I am very shocked that you know so much, that you have learned so many signs and that you have guessed all the riddles. Great applause. So be it, said Adam the Kid.

Speaking to children about safety, Adam Malysh also mentioned his own experience as a rider.

“It was only when I switched to racing that I saw what speed was, and only then I realized how important safety and compliance with the rules are. If you want to go crazy, that's what tracks are for, that's what car rallies are for, but you have to be very careful on the roads. The multiple ski jumping world champion warned not only pedestrians but also drivers to have eyes around their heads.

Adam Malysh has been supporting educational and preventive projects implemented by the Road Transport Inspectorate for many years. He participated, among other things, in the "Safe bus" and "Business for life" campaigns, promoting the correct behavior on the road and the health safety of professional drivers.

Online Road Safety Lessons is GITD's latest educational project. The classes, held since December last year, have already been attended by 6 people. Children. About half a thousand schools from all over Poland applied to participate in the project.
