On a rainy summer day, we tested a couple of new Aprilia scooters in busy Milan. Well, if we consider all the possible engine options, there are five models and they are based on two base cars with the same Sportcity surname and different names One and Cube.

Since the Slovenian importer of the Cube model will not be introduced to our market this year, we will only consider the smaller model, which is primarily intended for masonry, and due to the not too kitschy sporty design, the whole family will be able to ride it if they have a son. of course allowed. Already, the SR scooter, which can be found at the top of the offer, is much nicer and more suitable for teenagers, but as I said, it should also be looked for in the wallet.

Naughty scooters are solid color, without aggressive graphics and equipped with classic components, without an inverted front fork and rear disc brakes. The biggest complaint was the brakes, as the 125cc felt a jolt when the front brake lever was pulled.

They are also not a bright side of this scooter, as the levers are quite supple to the touch, and under heavy braking or when going over bumps, it also turns out that the suspension could be a little stiffer. It's been at least a year since I last drove small scooters, but I don't think my memory is deceiving me and that the components mentioned work better on more expensive models. Which is understandable - as much money as music.

Otherwise, Ena is a pleasant city traveler. Particularly surprising is the air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that can do more than you'd expect from a four-stroke grinder. In conditions of heavy traffic, while we were moving from one traffic light to another, he did not lag behind the stronger brothers at all.

In an airplane, the speed of the 50cc one stops at the prescribed speed, while the more powerful twin pulls up to 100 kilometers per hour. There is plenty of room under the seat for a large integral helmet, you won't believe it, even more than the larger, more powerful Cube.

The simple dashboard has a fuel gauge, which is a rarity in this class - most have just a warning light. As an accessory, you can purchase the best wind protection and a 32-liter carrying case.

Below the line?

For the price listed above the specs, the new generation Sportcity offers the great practicality we need in the city. The quality, apart from the disadvantages already mentioned, is at a high level, and only a very demanding observer will discover a plastic compound that could be better.

The decision to bring home one of these two scooters and perhaps even replace a second or third car with it can be a good cost saving measure. Kind with healthy!
