Audi shares a sneak peek of the Urbansphere concept ahead of its April 19 launch.

Audi will introduce a new representative of the Sphere series on April 19th. This is the UrbanSphere Concept, a concept car from the four-ring firm that demonstrates interesting design and purpose for the manufacturer.

Audi will unveil the Urbansphere concept on April 19, and last Friday the automaker released a sneak peek of its futuristic little electric car. The Urbansphere is Audi's third concept in the Sphere lineup, following the Skysphere Roadster and the ultra-luxurious Grandsphere.

Car of another level

Unlike Skysphere and Grandsphere, Urbansphere will be designed with urban commuting in mind. “This is the most compressed level,” said Audi brand director Henrik Wenders last year. Think of something similar to the AI:Me concept from 2019.

Design of the new Urbansphere concept

The teaser image shows nothing unexpected. Urbansphere will take the usual form of a small hatchback with two rows of seats. However, it does look like it has suicide swing doors, which is always nice to see. You can bet that the Urbansphere will have an electric powertrain and will probably be autonomous in theory anyway.

When and where will the launch take place?

Audi originally planned to show the Urbansphere concept at the 2022 Beijing Auto Show, but the event was canceled due to the pandemic. The premiere will now take place online, so check back on April 19 for all the details.
