Active holidays are in fashion. On weekends, everyone can go out of town to enjoy nature.

The number of handbags, handbags, suitcases and bicycles is so large that they do not fit in the trunk of a car. Something extra is needed. In stores, you can buy systems for transporting bicycles or closed trunks. The bearing elements are designed in such a way that they are suitable only for a specific car model.

Transportation of bicycles

Bicycles must be transported as a whole on an optional roof rack. Currently, there have been major changes in rack mounts. The main role is played by roof support systems, consisting of two beams equipped with special mounting brackets. They are strictly adapted to the dimensions of a particular car and the method of fastening provided by the designer. Support systems are manufactured in several standards, differing in the materials used and the price level. The most technically advanced are very light aerodynamically shaped magnesium alloy barrels with locks built into the heads to protect against the temptations of lovers of other people's property. (pictured right). Various mounts have carrier systems mounted on the station wagon's roof rail.

Most often, bicycles are transported on a roof rack. (pictured left)  complete or with the front wheel removed. For transportation, special bicycle holders are used, attached to the roof rack rails. One, two, three or four bicycles can be transported in this way. Be sure to properly attach the wheels to the gutter and the frame to the bracket. Installation is facilitated by a suitable clamping head adapted to fit the frame profile. It can be equipped with a special handle with a lock that allows you to secure the bike from theft. When buying, you should pay attention to the thickness of the frame, because the cheapest holders allow you to install bikes with frames up to 4,5 cm thick. New is a device for two bikes that are loaded from the side of the car and then moved up using a lever system.

Bicycles can also be transported on a special rack located on the hook of the trailer or on the trunk lid. (pictured right) . This arrangement greatly reduces the physical effort required to carry a heavy bike onto a roof rack. The holder mounted on the towbar can carry three bicycles. There are also bike racks that can be mounted on the back of a caravan or on the back door of a van. They can accommodate two bicycles.

We also thought about travelers who drive SUVs. The bike rack is attached to the rear spare wheel. This rack can carry up to three bikes. It is worth adding that the stores have the necessary accessories / ties, fixing rubber bands / that facilitate the secure fastening of almost any luggage.

Trunks closed

For the transportation of soft bags, closed streamlined trunks are used. They are attached to the same support bars as bike racks. Chests are offered in various lengths and volumes, often locked with a key.

When using roof racks, follow the instructions in your vehicle's owner's manual and, above all, do not exceed the roof's load capacity. Nowadays, cars with a load capacity of 100 kg are rare, the standard is 75 kg, but for example, Tico can lift 50 kg, and Peugeot 106 only 40 kg.

When traveling, use the appropriate style and technique of driving, bearing in mind that a car with a roof rack has a higher center of gravity and is subject to side winds. You should also avoid sudden acceleration and deceleration.
