If only two are replaced, the vehicle may behave strangely and become unstable on slippery surfaces.
All owners of liquid-cooled vehicles that have water in the radiator during the summer should replace it with a suitable coolant. However, if we accidentally forgot about it and the water in the radiator froze, the car should not be started in any case.
“It can even cause the engine to seize,” warns Eng. Coachman. – The vehicle must be towed to a workshop. You should also purchase winter washer fluid in advance. However, if you forgot about it and you were surprised by the frost in the morning, and the summer liquid is frozen, you can try to dissolve it with hot water.
Of course, headlight adjustment is an extremely important issue not only in the autumn-winter season, especially since you have to drive with the headlights on all day. For safety reasons, we must also check the braking and steering systems. Especially in older cars, the engine oil and filter should be changed - this should be done every six months or after a run of 10-7,5 km. km or XNUMX thousand in the case of diesel.
In order to avoid problems with starting the engine in the morning, it is worth checking the electrolyte level in the battery and topping up with distilled water if necessary. You also need to check the wear of candles and high-voltage cables. In winter, with old batteries, it is worth recharging once a month for preventive purposes.
It is also worth taking care of the body of the car. Before the onset of frost, the car should be washed and polished with a product that protects the paint from salt.
