Bafang M500: new center motor for mountain electric bikes

Driving innovation, Chinese supplier Bafang has just unveiled a new compact and powerful center motor designed for electric mountain bikes.

Based on the M600, a 350/500 Watt system designed for high-speed motorcycles, the Bafang M500 operates at 250W in accordance with European law and claims 95 to 110 Nm of torque.These two particularly compact engines should facilitate manufacturer integration bicycles. ... Weighing 3.4 kg, the M600 is also one of the lightest models in its class.

Technically it can be combined with the new 370 Wh and 600 Wh batteries built into a frame designed by the manufacturer. Using 18650 cells supplied by Panasonic / Samsung, the latter should soon be updated to the next generation: 21700.
