Probably not, but the test 216d Active Tourer was also a minivan. And he lacked nothing. 216d means a 1,5-liter three-cylinder turbodiesel with 85 kW or 116 "horsepower".
It is also offered in an even weaker version (but not on the Slovenian price list) marked 114d and only 95 “horses”, but with the fact that it turned out that the 216d is still seriously motorized enough to move the car with great determination. (which is just right for a BMW), it's not bad at all. The sound of the three-cylinder engine is certainly a little special - in its diesel style it even rustles a little sporty, but the soundproofing is good enough not to disturb. It is quite flexible, but at the same time moderate in consumption. If only the driver comes to terms with the fact that such a motorized Active Tourer is not an athlete and does not draw the last atoms of energy from it.
In all honesty, with moderate demands, the driver may even wonder if a more powerful engine is needed at all. We're used to the Active Tourer being one room higher and that taller drivers will also want a slightly longer longitudinal seat offset. We would also like more modern forms of instruments and dashboard, here the Active Tourer (which is understandable given when the development of this generation began) remains even more analogous than digital. Therefore, it also sits well in the rear, the trunk is sufficient for normal family use, and the chassis settings also suit family, moderate use. Yes, even such a low-end BMW can become a very pleasant everyday companion, especially if the buyer is not too strict in the choice of accessories (this did not disappear in the test).
