BMW E60 M5 - from a series of supersedans
The BMW E60 M5 was introduced in 2005 and is based on the BMW 5. The M5 is powered by the BMW V10 S85 five-liter naturally aspirated engine. The power unit produces 507 hp. at 7750 rpm and a maximum torque of 520 Nm at 6100 rpm. At such high engine speeds, it makes no sense to use the Valvetronic system, which is why the E60 M5 uses separate chokes for each cylinder. The car has an aluminum chassis and a seven-speed sequential SMG III gearbox. Its vibrations became more dull and acquired a more sporty design, as a result of which aerodynamic drag was minimized. Traction control and handling have been improved with larger and wider wheels, while emblems and lettering and interior trim have been given a new character.
