BMW X2City: electric scooter for the German brand

BMW has just unveiled the X2City, an electric scooter that is expected to be marketed at the end of the year. After Peugeot and its e-Kick (see our news), it was BMW's turn to get interested in the electric scooter market. The German brand associated with bike manufacturer ZEG has just unveiled its first model: the BMW Motorrad X2City.

Equipped with a brushless motor built into the rear wheel, the X2City can reach speeds of up to 25 km/h depending on the selected driving mode (available from 5 – 8, 12, 16, 20 or 25 km/h). It is powered by a 408 Wh battery, providing an autonomy of 25 to 35 kilometers, and charges in 2 hours and 30 minutes from a household outlet.

On the bike side, the BMW X2City opts for larger wheels and disc brakes.

It is expected to be offered at less than 2500 euros at the very end of the year.
