On-board computer "Prestige v55": overview, instructions for use, installation

Mounting of the BC can be carried out on the windshield or on the front panel of the car. Fasteners "Prestige v55" is carried out using adhesive tape, so the surface for the BC platform must be cleaned of dirt and degreased.

On-board computer "Prestige v55" is a device for diagnosing vehicle performance. The device allows you to monitor the health of the machine's systems, receive information about errors and analyze route parameters.

Device overview

The Prestige V55 product is produced by the Russian company Micro Line LLC in several modifications (01-04, CAN Plus). All versions of the on-board computer (BC) are designed for domestic and foreign cars through the OBD-2 diagnostic protocol.

Modes of operation

"Prestige v55" has 2 options for functioning:

  • Basic mode (via connection to the OBD-II/EOBD connector).
  • Universal (car does not support diagnostic protocol)

In the first case, the BC reads data from the electronic control unit (ECU) of gasoline and diesel engines. Information is updated and displayed on the screen at a frequency of 1 time per second. In addition, the device diagnoses breakdowns of internal systems and identifies the causes of their occurrence.

In the “universal mode”, the BC is connected to the speed sensors and the signal wire of the injectors. In this case, the Prestige V55 works without test and diagnostic options.

Functions

The output of any data on the BC display can be programmed in separate 4 sections and set up different light indications for them. CAN Plus version models have a built-in voice module that allows the computer to make sound alerts.

The device displays:

  • Traffic indicators on the road.
  • Fuel level, its consumption, mileage on the remaining fuel supply.
  • Tachometer and speedometer readings.
  • Time to accelerate the car to 100 km/h.
  • The temperature inside and outside the cabin.
  • Engine and coolant condition.
  • Notifications for engine overheating, overspeeding, parking lights or headlights not on.
  • Alerts for the replacement of consumables (brake pads, oil, coolant).
  • Error codes of the electronic engine block with decoding.
  • Analysis of trips for 1-30 days (travel time, parking, fuel consumption and the cost of refueling a car and buying accessories).
  • Vehicle speed data for the last half kilometer (flight recorder function).
  • The cost of the trip for the passenger according to the configured tariff plan (“taximeter”).
  • Clock with time correction, alarm clock, timer, calendar (organizer option).
The device can be programmed to preheat the spark plugs or force the engine to cool when the operating temperature is exceeded.

During the movement, the BC analyzes the path, selects the optimal one (fast / economical) and monitors its implementation, taking into account time, speed or fuel consumption. The system memory can store the parameters of up to 10 routes traveled.

The Prestige V55 supports the "parktronic" option, which allows you to display the distance to the object on the monitor with sound when driving in reverse gear. For the function to work, you need an additional set of sensors for mounting on the bumper (not included in the basic package of the gadget).

Features

"Prestige v55" is equipped with a graphic LCD module with a resolution of 122x32 pixels. Screen display color customizable in RGB format.

Computer installation instructions:

  • Remove the right glove box in front of the passenger seat to expose the OBDII socket.
  • Connect the signal expander to the diagnostic connector of the car and BC.
  • Choose the optimal angle for viewing the computer and fix it with 2 bolts on the bracket.
  • Install the Prestige V55 module on the platform by pressing on the mount with a screwdriver.

If the “virtual tank” option is not needed, then it is necessary to connect the fuel level sensor to the wire loop from the fuel pump and to the signal expander, according to the instructions. Other sensors (parking sensors, size control, DVT) are connected as needed.

To use the on-board computer in "universal mode", you will need to connect a wire to the connector of one of the injectors and to the speed signal sensor. Then, in the BC menu, enable data output from these sensors.

Reviews

On the Internet, car owners praise the Prestige V55 for its wide range of functions, simple operation and high reliability during operation. Among the shortcomings of the BC, users note the incorrect determination of fuel consumption and incompatibility with many modern cars.

"Prestige v55" is suitable for owners of domestic cars and foreign cars of the model range until 2009. The on-board computer will promptly notify about system malfunctions, replace “consumables” and help with parking, which will reduce the risk of an emergency. Thanks to reports and route analysis, the driver will be able to optimize vehicle maintenance costs.
