Test drive Bridgestone Blizzak ICE - for the harshest winters

Blizzak ICE has been engineered to deliver maximum performance in harsh winter conditions.

Bridgestone, the world's largest tire and rubber manufacturer, is committed to providing mobility solutions that help drivers keep on their journey through adversity. Recently unveiled new tires, including the Turanza T005, Weather Control A005 and Blizzak LM005, showcased Bridgestone's commitment to delivering premium and quality products. This trend continues with the new Blizzak ICE studless tire for winter conditions. It is designed to meet the needs and expectations of drivers, as identified in targeted market research.

The tire provides exceptional performance on snow and ice, excellent ride comfort and significantly extended wear life.

Consumer research: experts have a lot to say

Bridgestone interviewed numerous drivers from Northern Europe personally. The goal was to understand exactly what they want from their winter tires and what challenges they face. Tire durability and environmental protection were noted as very important for drivers. At the same time, a consumer survey showed that everyday driving includes both urban and suburban conditions. Drivers also needed excellent traction so that they could stop abruptly and maintain control on ice and wet snow. Designed to meet the needs of the end user, the Bridgestone Blizzak ICE meets all of these requirements, providing drivers with safety and confidence throughout the winter, even in the most challenging conditions.

Excellent grip

Over the past 30 years, Bridgestone has built a reputation for cutting-edge and innovative winter tires. The results of consumer surveys and the growing popularity of these tires in the Nordic countries prompted Bridgestone to further develop winter tires with the Blizzak ICE.

Blizzak ICE, created using a completely new tread compound using the company's patented Multicell technology, provides improved braking on ice. Bridgestone Multicell technology is specially formulated with hydrophilic properties that attract water and move it away from the ice surface for improved traction. The Blizzak ICE tire does not affect tire durability. Having achieved an 8% reduction in stopping distance on ice [1], it increased the wear period by 25% compared to its predecessor [2]. This is possible thanks to a new formula and a specially developed tread pattern.

Comfortable driving

Traction and braking are vital to driver safety. These two features have been enhanced with a unique tread pattern. The air duct design helps to distract airflow and reduce noise, increasing comfort for both drivers and passengers.

Available in many sizes

Bridgestone Blizzak ICE will be available in 2019 sizes from 37 to 14 inches in 19, with 2020 more in 25. The range covers 86% of market demand, including most passenger cars.
