This process is controlled by a suitable device that receives the correct electrical signals from the sensors. In each case, the force of impact and the angle at which it was applied to the car body are specified in order to avoid the deployment of airbags in a situation where a collision is not dangerous, and correctly fastened seat belts are sufficient. to protect passengers.

Counting sensors

Impact energy sensors available and used so far only detected an incident about 50 milliseconds (ms) after impact. The new system developed by Bosch is able to detect and accurately calculate absorbed energy 3 times faster, i.e. as little as 15ms after impact. This is very important for the cushion effect. The faster response time allows you to better protect your head from the effects of hitting hard objects.

The system consists of 2 frontal impact sensors and as many as 4 side impact sensors that transmit signals to the electronic controller. Sensors immediately determine if there was a minor impact when the airbags should not be activated, or if there was a serious collision when the vehicle's security systems should be activated.

The first copies of innovative solutions are always expensive. However, the launch of mass production leads to a significant reduction in both production costs and prices. This is reflected in the availability of new solutions that can be used in many car brands and optimally protect passengers from the consequences of collisions.
