2023 Cadillac Lyriq: Report Shows It Will Start Production In Just Two Weeks

The Cadillac Lyric, the brand's first all-electric model, is about to hit the production line. According to reports, production of the luxury SUV will begin on March 21 in Spring Hill, Tennessee, and could start selling for less than $60,000.

The Lyriq is powered by a 100 kilowatt-hour battery that drives a single permanent magnet motor on the rear axle. Net power is about 340 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque. The range is estimated at more than 300 miles, but the EPA has yet to release official figures. When it comes time to charge, the Lyriq will consume up to 190kW of juice, enough to add about 195 miles of range in half an hour.

Initial versions of the Cadillac Lyriq sold out quickly. After opening the books for its debut top-tier version, the automaker ran out of reserve slots within 10 minutes. Those who weren't lucky enough to get one will probably have to wait until the summer. We're still waiting for a full price breakdown, but so far we know the Lyriq costs under $60,000.
