Camaro - Job Done, Legend Resurrected

The first Camaro was released in 1966. Muscular body, powerful V-shaped eight and great performance... People love it for it. No wonder - he was the quintessential American muscle car. Everyone wanted it, but not everyone could afford it. Despite being treated like a car god by many American car aficionados, the manufacturer chose not to sell it in Europe. But 10 years later he changed his mind.

The new Camaro returns to the Old Continent in style. You can get it for less than 200 6.2. zloty It's a lot? The car has an 8-liter monster under the hood, of course, in the V432 system. The engine develops 569 km and 250 Nm of torque and allows you to accelerate to 5.2 km/h. Does the seat push into the floor when you press the gas? And How! In combination with a manual transmission, the first hundred can be seen on the speedometer in seconds. Is there another car on the market with these parameters at this price? Yes - from a thrift store. In the case of a Chevrolet, at this price you leave the dealership with a brand new car - and what a brand new one at that. And that's not the end of the surprises.

The Camaro is a typical two-door coupe in a 2+2 configuration, but there's something more in the hair for wind lovers - a stylish convertible. It looks great with both open and closed roof. Comfortable can also combine a 6.2-liter engine with an automatic transmission. Then the engine power is reduced to 405 km, although the word "reduced" in this case looks funny. Camaro with automatic transmission literally knocks down its characteristics. However, the best part is that Chevrolet wants to reward customers for 10 years without selling the Camaro in Europe, so the Continent version is adapted to European driving style.

The suspension is completely different. As you know, there are not so many turns in America. Its residents have access to property like our A4 motorway. Chevrolet was aware that Europe is really one big slalom, full of holes, so that every ill-prepared car lands in a ditch and turns into a flower bed. That is why the Camaro designed for our market has the FE04 suspension. It has better tuned dampers and more solid stabilizers. This makes it much more durable and stable compared to the American version. 20-inch wheels and 4-piston brakes further improve the vehicle's handling on the road.

Camaro invisible? Not! It's a 100% muscle car, so if someone doesn't like looking at the city, don't buy it. In turn, everyone who wants to stand out will feel perfect - it's hard to meet two Camaros standing side by side. The interior is borrowed from the past and combines simplicity and modernity. Four gauges on the console are reminiscent of previous generations, while blue lighting and a control panel for the audio system and air conditioning give the interior a modern charm. But the real technology is hidden elsewhere.

Chevrolet has created a Camaro Driver Information Center with a large display that allows you to read all the necessary data - from fuel consumption, through the distance traveled, to range after refueling. Not only that - in this segment, only the Camaro can get a display known from fighter jets - the information is fed to the windshield, so you don't have to take your eyes off the road. Technology has penetrated into the engine.

In this type of car, discussing fuel consumption is at least as tactless as asking a woman if she has natural hair or just a dyed wig. However, Chevrolet still met users halfway and decided to cut fuel costs as much as possible, despite the powerful engine under the hood. Fuel consumption is reduced by 7.5% due to theoretically simple operation - at low engine load, only 4 cylinders work, and the rest are closed. When more power is needed, the other 4 come into play and the engine uses its maximum power. What if someone can't afford a Camaro but still wants one?

Well, he can buy a poster or a mug with a printed image. Except that such things are usually less useful than a car. Or maybe you should take an interest in models from other manufacturers? It's a good question, because theoretically it's hard to find anything more enticing than a Camaro. This car sells better than legends like the Ford Mustang, Dodge Challenger or Nissan 350Z! But the theoretically inconspicuous Chevrolet Cruze shines just as much. It's the best-selling compact sedan in the US - ahead of not only Honda, but also giants like Ford and Toyota! As a result, in world statistics, he ranks fourth in sales in its class and seventh in the overall standings of all models and segments. Anything else about him?

Under the hood of the Cruze are two petrol engines, and both suit the character of the car - they are relatively powerful and economical. The smaller motorcycle has a volume of 1.6 liters and a power of 124 hp, while the larger one has 1.8 liters and a power of 141 hp. Diesel? It's a decent compact car, and it can't help but offer a diesel unit. This is the most powerful of the entire line - it squeezes 163 km out of two liters. Each of the engines can be paired with a manual or automatic transmission. But can the Cruze be compared to the phenomenal Camaro?

The latter is a modern retro sports car, while the Cruze is a versatile compact car. However, they have a lot in common - they sell well, they are great value for money, and they bring variety to boring streets. They are just different, the same can be seen in the interior. Soft blue lighting, sporty cabin, the most spacious in its class - Chevrolet has refined every detail of the Cruza. Also for those who care about safety - the car received the maximum rating of five stars in EuroNCAP crash tests. All thanks to a set of 6 airbags and a reinforced roll cage.

I have to admit that Chevrolet is pretty good at designing fancy cars. The new, classic Camaro is already a legend, and the Cruze is a perfect example of how a compact car doesn't have to be just four wheels and a sleepy body. And who said that you can not stand out on the street for a reasonable price?
